I'm planning on visiting Walt Disney World parks mid-August with a 14 week old! Is this do-able? Thanks ladies!

    Hi Erin!

I'm glad to hear that you are thinking ahead and planning for your magical summer vacation.  Even though it seems as if it is still a long time away, it will be here before you can say, "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"

With a little careful planning and a few tips I'm gonna offer you, it can totally be done. The biggest thing to remember is that traveling with an infant will require frequent stops for feedings and extra trips to the restrooms for diaper changes. So, keep this in mind and be patient. There are several baby care centers among the different parks. These are a fantastic area to go for some quiet time for feedings or naps. They have private nursing rooms with rocking chairs and changing areas. I have escaped to these a time or two in the past with my youngest and you would be surprised at how quiet they are among the hustle and bustle of the parks just outside their doors.

Don't forget that in mid-August it will be very warm and humid. My suggestion is to make sure to have a stroller with a sunshade. Whether you bring your own or rent one, be sure to shade your little one from the hot sun. In my opinion, the baby carriers that are strapped to your body are very convenient. However, at that time of year, they can get really uncomfortable, hot and sweaty, for both you and your baby. This is my personal opinion, but I would much rather both stay cool and use a stroller instead. Also, don't forget the sunscreen and be sure it is one that is approved for delicate baby skin.

Last, but certainly not least, stay hydrated and don't be afraid to take frequent breaks for this purpose.

I hope these tips and suggestions help you in planning the best vacation ever. Have a wonderful time!
