    Trina from AK Asked

I'm planning a trip for my family. There will be 7 of us. Where do I begin?

    Hi Trina,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am happy to see that you are the official vacation planner for the family. Though it can be a daunting task, I am so confident that you can do it!

After you decide the time of year that you would prefer to go, start with choosing the resort hotel. My family prefers Deluxe Resort Hotels because of the dining options and other amenities. We have also enjoyed moderate resorts and, when traveling with friends, I have stayed in value resorts as well. Our favorite resorts are Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Our girls love dancing with Mickey Mouse and the gang at Chef Mickey's and watching the Happily Ever Fireworks from California Grill and 'Ohana.

Once you book a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, consider purchasing a dining plan. We generally do the Disney Dining Plan or the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. The Deluxe Dining Plan gives us the most meals with the most flexibility. At 180 days prior to your trip, make dining reservations, especially for character meals. Since our girls must find time to visit with their princess friends, we love to dine at Cinderella's Royal Table, Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall!

Trina, during the planning process, make sure you create a My Disney Experience Account. Once you have that account, you can link your resort hotel confirmation, dining reservations and, my favorite, Fast Pass+ selections. As long as you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can make your Fast Pass+ selections for rides and attractions 60 days in advance.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
