I'm planning on taking my 10 month old to disney world. Does it make sense to take a baby that young or should i wait? i know they will be free but im trying to figure out what there is to do with an infant.

    Hi Katie,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You have come to the right place to get advice on traveling with a little one. In my opinion, you are never too young to go to Walt Disney World, a place where anyone can be a kid at heart. All three of my children traveled there at very young ages, two of them as infants.

Don't underestimate the amount of things there are to do for you and your child. Most of the parks are filled with attractions and entertainment that any age can enjoy. Yes, there are some rides or shows that might have a height minimum or may be too intense for small ones, but so many more do not. I suggest you visit the Walt Disney World site for traveling with little ones. This is a great resource with suggestions for attractions, resorts, and even dining that is most appealing the the tiniest of tots. It also includes links to "80 attractions and more" that are suitable for pre-schoolers and younger children, as well as sample itineraries.

There are also Baby Care Centers in each of the four theme parks. These provide a quiet place to go to nurse, change diapers, or to simply rest and rock in air-conditioned peace. They even sell baby care items such as diapers, wipes, formula and sunscreen. One of my biggest tips as a parent is to always stay hydrated, especially the little ones.

The choice of whether you travel with your 10 month old is entirely up to you. You know your child better than anyone. If you do decide to go with him/her, I hope you'll enjoy some of my little ones' favorites such as "it's a small world", Peter Pan's Flight and Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

    Happy Planning!
