I’m planning a non Disney trip to Florida (no Disney resort, no parks). Aside from resort pools, can I access the resorts for shopping and dining? What about use of the transportation system?

    Hi Amanda,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another great question, my fellow Canadian!

One of my favourite parts of any visit to Walt Disney World Resort is undoubtedly exploring all that the Disney Resort Hotels have to offer. Although pool hopping typically isn’t allowed (that is, you can only use a Resort hotel’s pool facilities if you’re a registered Guest staying there), you can absolutely enjoy any shopping and dining facilities located there. Don’t forget that you’ll probably need to make dining reservations for most of the table service dining locations.

As for the use of Disney Resort Transportation, I’m happy to say that you will be able to use it, too! Just make sure that, if you park at a Disney Resort Hotel and you plan to leave your car there for more than 3 hours, that you ask the Cast Member at the Resort entrance what the parking rules are for the day. During busier times of year, you may have to move your car or use valet parking if you plan to stay for an extended period of time that day.

I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect Disney Day during your upcoming visit to Central Florida… even if you don’t ever set foot in a Theme Park! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
