I'm planning my first trip to WDW in July 2012 for 6 days. I was wonder what are the best ticket options for my family of 4 and do you think that we will need more than 1 day at each part.

    Hi Shekeita!

Welcome to the first of what hopefully will be many more Disney vacations for you! The first time is certainly the most memorable; I can vividly remember the excitement I had on my first trip. The only part I don't like is the vacation normally FLIES by, because you're having so much fun. So just remember to take your time and soak it all in :-)

Your ticket options are contingent on your family dynamic. Also, I recommend guests get Park Hopper if their vacation time is generally short (say, 4 days or less).

Since you are staying 6 days, you don't necessarily need to get Park Hopper. We've found recently that we can plan our entire day just at 1 park for the most part, if we stay 5 days or more. Our agenda may go something like this: 1 day at Animal Kingdom, 1 day at Epcot, 1 day at Hollywood Studios, and 2 days at Magic Kingdom. If you're not deciding to do the water parks, this is a great lineup, and gives you 1 off-day to enjoy your resort or hotel (since your biggest investment is generally lodging, I always contend to take 1 day to enjoy the place you stay if you can).

Now, if you decide to get the Water Parks and More option, then I say getting the Park Hopper is not a bad deal. You can start your day off at, say, Typhoon Lagoon, go home and change, then come back out and finish your day at, say, Hollywood Studios.

Also, for us, with pre-school aged children, having Park Hopper wasn't that much of a big deal. The kids are normally OK staying at 1 park the entire day, and you don't have to spend so much time running around catching transportation.

So, hope this helps a little. May you and family have the Time of Your Life!
