Hi Kendale and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

How exciting that you are planning your first trip to Walt Disney World - you are going to have so much fun!

The answer to your question really depends on your own family's individual dining preferences. There are many Quick-Service dining locations available throughout the Theme Parks, Water Parks, Disney Springs and the Resort hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort. Reservations are not needed for most of the Quick-Service meals, you simply get in line, place your order and collect your food.

If you are on a budget, Quick-Service meals will be your best bet as they are a cheaper option that dining at the Table-Service restaurants.

That said, if you are wanting to experience a Character meal or any Table-Service restaurant in particular during your stay, I would definitely recommend that you make Advance Dining Reservations at your earliest possible opportunity. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

I would also highly recommend that you do take advantage of Disney FastPass+. This is a fabulous complimentary perk which allows you to reserve access to select attractions and entertainment ahead of time which in turn, will reduce the amount of time that you will need to spend in line whilst you are visiting the Theme Parks. You can start making selections as early as 30 days before you arrive, or up to 60 days before check-in when you have a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
