Hi all! I'm planning a first time to Disney trip with 4 and 6 year old daughters. Does anyone have advice for how to plan out our days at the parks? Which tickets, and do we go every day - or will we need a day off?

    Hi Rachel,

I am thrilled to hear that you are planning your first Walt Disney World vacation. You will be amazed at the magical memories that you will create that will last a lifetime. Planning that first trip can be a bit overwhelming, but with a few great resources and thoughtful research, the stress can hopefully be eliminated. So, I am glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We love assisting others with our tips and recommendations. To get started, I recommend visiting the Walt Disney World Planning and Ideas page. This can offer a vacation recommendation based on your budget, travel party size, kids' ages, etc.

One of the many travel decisions you will need to make is your travel date and length of stay. This can offer a starting point for planning your budget and number of days for tickets. I would recommend at least 3-4 days in the parks so that you have enough time to see as much as possible in each of the four parks. If you plan to stay longer than that, you could opt for a "day off" from the theme parks and enjoy some relaxation at your resort pool or a fun day of dining and shopping at the newly re-imagined Disney Springs. In terms of theme park tickets, I always recommend the park hopper add-on option. While this does cost a little more, it does allow for more flexibility of getting to more than one park in a day.

Since your girls are young, a great way to see sample itineraries and attractions that would appeal to the little ones is the Planning for Little Ones page. I also suggest getting to the parks early and then taking a break in the afternoon to rest those tiny feet.

Feel free to stop back by with more questions. We're here to help.
