I'm planning my family's first Disney vacation (2 kids, 6 and 9). I'm having a hard time decided the dates. Please give me all pros and cons of the following dates; Sept 20-26, Oct 25-31, Nov 8-14. I think we're going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside.

Good news Krisiti!  All of the date ranges you indicated fall during times when Walt Disney World is anticipating lower than average crowd levels.  For future reference, you can take a look at the calendar

Of the dates you specified, the September option is the only one that falls within Disney's value season, which offers the lowest room rates all year.  Another plus of visiting in late September is that you'll be able to attend one of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties.  It will require a separate ticket, but it's worth it; that event is a favorite in our family!  Also, the last couple of years Disney has offered some great discounts during September to entice families to visit during one of their slower seasons.  Cons of a September visit are that temperatures are still quite warm and because it falls within hurricane season, September frequently sees daily thunderstorms (usually in the afternoon).

Both the October and the November dates you specified are considered "regular" season as far as rates are concerned.  If you visit in October, the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween parties will be in full swing, the Magic Kingdom will be decorated in full fall splendor, and the Food and Wine Festival will be going on at Epcot.  Temperatures will be slightly cooler than September, and crowds will likely be lower than normal.

If it were my vacation, I'd opt for the September or October dates, preferably September for the savings.  I lean that way because I highly recommend the Halloween party and also because if you go in early November, you'll likely just miss seeing the Christmas decorations and other special events.

Don't worry though, you'll have a spectacular time whichever you choose!
