Hi, I'm planning a Disney vacation for some time next year. How many months in advance can I make Disney resort reservations? Should I wait for special deals first? Thank you!

    Hi Bill!

Disney's Magic Your Way Packages can be booked once the prices are released for the following year, this usually occurs in the summer.  For example, rates for 2013 were announced in June of 2012.  Room only reservations can be booked up to 499 days in advance.

I always recommend that you book your vacation as soon as your dates are secured or as soon as the rates are released for the following year.  Magic Your Way Packages require a $200 deposit and then you can pay however you wish as long as the balance is completely paid 45 days before your check-in date.  Sort of like a Disney vacation lay-away plan, but there's even better news.  If a discount is released that is eligible for your dates of stay, you can apply this to your reservation to receive the savings.  The difference will be deducted from your balance or refunded.  Since Disney released a lot of special offers through out the year, this is a great opportunity to save on your Walt Disney World vacation.

Disney has wonderful dining experiences, they are also extremely popular.  Guests that are staying at a Disney owned resort have the advantage of booking reservations 180+10.  This means that 180 days from your date of arrival you can book your dining reservations for that day, plus the next 10 days of your vacation.  This will give you a slight advantage over guests that are not staying on Disney property, with some dining experiences you will need any advantage to secure these elusive reservations.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have anymore questions!

    Best Wishes!
