I'm planning our daughter's first WDW visit next year and she'll be 2. I thought maybe the new AoA resort but I've stayed at the PC before and it always took a while to get back to the hotel so I was thinking the Contemporary? Where do you think is best?

    Hi Amy,

When it is finished, Disney's Art of Animation Resort will be a sensory delight for toddlers.  How could they not love the larger than life decor inspired by some of their most beloved animated Disney films?  If you'd like to see a recent construction update on the resort, check out this week's Disney Parks Blog.

However, I do understand your concern about travel time between this resort and the theme parks.  It will be a 20-25 minute bus ride to the Magic Kingdom.  That can seem like an eternity at the end of a busy day.  If you anticipate this being a problem, then Disney's Contemporary Resort would be a better choice.  You can either walk or take the monorail from the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  That can take less than 10 minutes.

If you choose this resort, the garden wing rooms are a great value.  If you're looking for the most stunning views from your balcony, definitely reserve a room in the main tower with a theme park view.  You'll be awestruck by your view of the nightly Wishes fireworks.

Good luck with your decision and please let us know, Amy, if you need any additional advice.  We'd be delighted to help!
