I’m planning on booking a reservation at California Grill. Can we just order drinks, appetizers and desserts? Is the outside deck for fireworks handicap accessible to scooters and wheelchairs? Do you have to stand to be able to view the fireworks?

Hello there, Danielle! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for taking the time to stop back by and ask another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!

The California Grill is located on the top floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort and offers Guests a sweeping view of the Magic Kingdom, Bay Lake, and Seven Seas Lagoon! If the surrounding sights are not enough to entice you, the decadent Californian cuisine most certainly will! You and your family will have the opportunity to savor a variety of foods based curated around seasonal ingredients and multinational cuisines. Regardless of whether you choose to order a full meal or just drinks and dessert, this dining experience is truly a feast for all of the senses!

In my own experience, the outside observation deck at the California Grill is quite accessible by wheelchair! I have also seen other Guests utilizing ECVs so this should not be a problem either. The walls that surround the observation deck are a bit tall but I don't think this should be a huge obstruction when viewing Happily Ever After particularly if you are utilizing an ECV. As someone that is on the shorter side, I always plan on reserving my own viewing spot as early as possible so I can find the least obstructed area as possible! So, if this is also a concern of yours, I would suggest snagging your viewing spot prior to the actual beginning of this Nighttime Spectacular!

Have fun continuing to plan for your 2020 vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
