I'm overwhelmed at everything online. Where do I start? How much should I plan to ensure our holiday runs smoothly? We are a family of 4 (2 girls 6&8) we are from Australia & will be WDW for 14 nights then a 7 night disney cruise.

Hi, Louise! You have come to the right place. All of us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel love to help Guests plan their Walt Disney World vacation and we are here for you every step of the way!

I will share with you my planning strategy. I make Advanced Dining Reservations and FastPass+ selections ahead of time. In between these, I leave the day open for us to do as we please in the moment. It works very well for us! Others like to plan even more of their day. The preference is completely up to you and what will work best for your family's vacation style.

Starting 180 days from your arrival date, you are able to start making your Advanced Dining Reservations. Before that date, browse the different Walt Disney World restaurants online and make a list of places you would like to try. You are able to even view the menus so you can get a good idea which restaurants would work well for your family's tastes. Have a couple extra written down in case some of your choices are already booked when you are making your reservations. After you have your dining set, you now have an idea of what Parks you will be visiting which day depending on where the restaurants are located.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you are able to start making your FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance (30 days if you are staying off property). Again, before this date make a 'wish list' of which attractions. Then, depending on what park you will be visiting each day you can make the appropriate reservations. You can choose three reservations for each day of your vacation.

Louise, If you have any questions about anything while you are planing your family's magical vacation - please do not hesitate for a second to stop by and ask us about anything you need help with. We want your vacation to be practically perfect just as much as you do!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
