Hi. I'm 4-5 months pregnant and on my first trip to Disney World! What would you suggest re: rides and other tips? Is there a pregnant-mom-friendly Disney map, so I know which rides to visit?

    Well first and foremost, congratulations!

There is not a pregnant specific map, but I don't think you'll find one necessary.  I was concerned about this myself, as my very first visit to Disney was actually while I was pregnant.  Fortunately my OB and his wife had also visited Disney while expecting, so he knew firsthand what I would be doing and was able to give me great guidance.

My #1 piece of advice would be to talk to your own doctor. No two pregnancies are alike, and only your doctor can tell you what is right for you.  Also, of course you'll need to take into consideration the signs posted in Disney about who should take caution in riding.  Following these medical precautions are the best way to ensure a safe and fun trip for all.

When we visited my oldest daughter was still too small for the 'big' rides so we were using the switch ticket option.  My husband always rode first, so he could report back on whether or not he felt I should ride.  That was so helpful!  When he had any hesitation whatsoever I chose to err on the side of caution and skip the ride, but we were surprised by a few that were more smooth than we anticipated and I was able to take a turn.

For me, I rode basically everything but coasters.  I did not ride Rock N RollerCoaster, Space Mountain, Dinosaur, Star Tours and Test Track.  Expedition Everest was not built at that time, but now I would add that to my list as well.  These are, in our estimation, the bumpiest and fastest rides in Disney, and I didn't want to risk anything.

While I did miss out on some really fun rides, the way I saw it was that I had a great reason to hurry back.  And we did - the baby was only 8 weeks old when we returned to Disney.  :)

Have a great vacation, and best of luck with your little one.
