Hi. I'm looking for a restaurant for "date night" while the kids are off in the with the grandparents. No park hopper, so we need a resort or Downtown Disney locale. We'd prefer something that will only cost 1 dining credit, and dont like seafood

Hi Jeff! Wow, an evening out with your wife without the kids sounds like so much fun! Bringing the grandparents along on a trip to Walt Disney World Resort really can be a blessing! I have some good suggestions for you to make this a truly magical evening.

My top choice would be to head to Disney’s BoardWalk area. There are several delicious restaurants in this area, including the newly opened Trattoria al Forno. Afterwards, you and your wife can stop by Jellyrolls dueling piano bar or Atlantic Dance Hall to get your groove on.

If you are looking for a quieter evening, I’d say “Aloha” to Kona Café at Disney’s Polynesian Resort Village. The New York Strip Steak has a pineapple teriyaki glaze that makes it so different from any other steak you’ll find on property. I’d skip dessert at the restaurant and head downstairs at the Resort to the Pineapple Lanai for a pineapple Dole Whip (I will never pass up a chance for that little taste of paradise!). You can end your lovely evening with a walk out on the beach at the Polynesian while watching Magic Kingdom’s Wishes nighttime spectacular.

There are several other great Disney Resort hotel restaurants I’d recommend, such as Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village or The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If bowling is your thing, you can strike up some fun at Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Downtown Disney, where you can enjoy upscale dishes and drinks while you bowl. There are really endless possibilities for your evening with your wife. Just remember to take a great treat back to the sweet grandparents! Let me know if you have any further questions!
