I'm looking at doing a trip next spring/summer, with a 5, 14 and 17 yr old. Anyone have any recommendations on when the best time is not so crowded? Looking at Disneyland in CA.

    Hi there, Darla!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am excited you are already planning your trip for next summer at the Disneyland Resort. Summer is a popular time for many to vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth, but you can still find opportunities to visit when crowds are lower. Take a look at the "When to Visit" page to give you some tips about crowds, weather, and special events for each month. One of my biggest tips is to also check out the Annual Passholder Blockout Calendars. This will let you know when certain types of Annual Passports are blocked from entering the parks. I have found that dates with Annual Passholder blockouts are typically less crowded as less local Guests are in the parks. For example, the last few years I have visited on Memorial Day when most Annual Passes are blocked and crowds were surprisingly low even though this is a holiday.

One major thing to keep in mind about next summer, though, is the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland Park. Since the official opening date has not been announced, it is going to be a little harder to predict summer crowds. Once this opens, I would expect both parks to be very busy as this is one of the most anticipated additions to the parks in their entire history. Keep an eye out on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements of when this new land plans to open.

I hope this helps, and please feel free to return with more questions as you plan your magical vacation!
