Hi, I'm looking to book a vacation the last week in August 2016. I know there are usually discounts for the end of summer on hotel rooms. If I book a room now and a discount is offered do I have to re-book? Want to keep my ADR! Thanks!

    Hi Tracy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! My family and I are always looking for ways to save on our Disney vacations too. We typically research any newly released discounts before finalizing our plans. That extra savings can then be put toward things such as Special Events & Tours, Disney Character Dining, souvenirs and even a deposit for our next Disney vacation!

I recommend reading the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest updates and announcements of upcoming special discounts. Last year, the offer for summer savings of up to 30% on select Walt Disney Resort hotel rooms was published in the Disney Parks Blog on March 25th, 2015. You may also visit the Walt Disney World Resort website regularly to check the Special Offers page.

I advise you to secure a reservation now at your preferred Walt Disney World Resort hotel as a placeholder of sorts. If a more budget friendly discount is released, simply contact Disney to see if it can be applied to your vacation plans. However, please note that a discount will not be automatically applied to an existing reservation even if it encompasses the qualifying dates of the offer. You will need to get in touch with Disney to determine if the discount is available, and applicable to your specific dates at the resort hotel you have reserved.

As you continue to plan your trip, be sure to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel with all your questions.

Wishing you an unforgettable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
