I'm looking for the best/cost efficient choice for family of 5. The kids are 18, 14, 9. The 18/14 year old won't sleep in the same bed. Can an adult male fit on the day beds at Boardwalk? Other suggestion besides 2 value rooms?

    chEARs Kelly!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Resort hotels are my favorite subject on the Panel, and I hope I can give you at least a few fantastic options for your upcoming visit! I checked on the size of the daybeds at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and they are the size of a twin mattress. So it all depends on the height of your boys. If they’re under six feet, they should be pretty comfortable. But, if you want to explore a couple of more options, I’ve got a few for you!

First stop - Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Both the Preferred Room and the Standard View - 5th Sleeper can sleep up to five people. The rooms have two Queen beds and a pull-down sleeper that would be perfect for the 14-year-old. My kids always fight over who gets to sleep in the cool hideaway bed, so good luck with that! Depending on when you visit, the brand new Disney Skyliner will be operating with a nonstop aerial ride to Epcot’s International Gateway in one direction and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the other!

Another fantastic option is the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. They are stand-alone bungalows that come with full kitchen, outdoor grill, and best of all - bunk beds! (Now the only argument will be who gets the top bunk!). The five of you can “rough it” in comfort and still be only a 10-minute boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park.

Finally, the Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort are both affordable and comfortably sleep up to six adults. At the Homage to Music, there is a Queen Bed, as well as a Double-Size Sleeper Sofa, and two Twin-Size Sleeper Chairs/Ottomans. With both the Twin-Size options, your 18 and 14-year-old would both get their domain! I love the Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. They are themed to perfection, and very generous in size. They have a combination of three Double-Size bed options, so there might need to be some musical “chairs/beds” to make it work!

Good luck with your Resort search!
