I'm heading down to Disney from Syracuse just for the weekend for the Expedition Everest Challenge 5k. Can anyone tell me if I should wear my good running shoes or one that I don't mind getting muddy or wet. Not sure how rough it is out there on the course

    Hi!

The Expedition Everest Challenge is so much fun!  I think you're going to have a great time at the race, and the finish line party!

This is a really good question.   Last year, the course was very dry, and mostly on paved areas, so it wasn't an issue.  There was one year where it rained a lot and the course was very muddy.  My advice would be to watch the weather.  If it looks like it's going to stay pretty dry, then your good shoes would be fine.  If there is a rainy forecast, you may want to pack your older ones.

If you have room, I would take both just in case.  You could make a race day decision based on the circumstances.  There isn't a lot of time spent "off-road" but, if you're like me, you don't like to get anything on your newest shoes.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions leading up to your Expedition!
