I'm fixing to purchase Annual Pass tickets and I saw that it included a Magic Band. Well my question is, What is a Magic Band?

Hey there Jennifer, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Wading through all the perks that come with being a Passholder can be confusing. I'm happy to help you get started!

When you visit the Walt Disney World Resort these days, you'll see almost everyone sporting a colorful wristband. Every so often, they'll touch it to a post or a pad to enter a ride or pay for merchandise. These are Magic Bands, and they're the key to using the new My Disney Experience technology. When you order your Florida Resident Annual Passes, you'll get a Magic Band free for each pass you buy.

So what do you do with these things? First of all, you just touch your band at the entrance to get into the Theme Parks. No more keeping track of tickets or cards!

You'll also use your Magic Bands for the new FastPass+ system, allowing you to select up to three rides, shows or other attractions you'd like to see before you even head to the parks. As an Annual Passholder, you can make FastPass+ selections up to 30 days in advance. Just create an account in My Disney Experience, link your Annual Passes, choose your FastPass+ attractions, and you're all set! You can learn more about how to use the system on the FastPass+ page on the Walt Disney World website.

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can also use Magic Bands to open their room door and pay for meals and merchandise with a linked credit card.

I hope this helps you unlock the fun of using Magic Bands with your Annual Pass, Jennifer. Please stop by again if you have any more questions. I'm here to help!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
