Disneyland Resort Halloween

I'm a first-timer at Mickey's Halloween Party this year. I've read the costume guidelines, but I was wondering if costumes are actually required? And what's the weather like in SoCal at the end of October?

Hello, Hannah! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Hooray! I am so glad that you will be attending Mickey’s Halloween Party for the first time this year! You are going to have so much fun meeting rare characters, trick-or-treating around the park, and watching the Frightfully Fun Parade and Halloween Screams Fireworks. While costumes are encouraged for all Guests, they are definitely not mandatory. So if you would rather be comfortable in your normal park wear, then that is just fine! Temperatures in late October are rather pleasant and can range from 56 to 80 degrees. Since the party is in the evening, you may want to bring along a light jacket just in case it gets chilly.

With your Mickey’s Halloween Party ticket, you can access both parks starting three hours before the start of the party. There is some spooky fun over in Disney California Adventure Park that you will definitely want to check out before the party gets underway in Disneyland Park. Cars Land will have a complete Haul-O-Ween makeover and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark is a special overlay just at night during Halloween Time. As a first timer to the party, you should also be aware that Disney FASTPASS Service is not available during party hours as the crowds are typically low enough that it is not needed. Additionally, downloads of all your PhotoPass photos taken during the party are included.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by again. Have a spooktacular time at the Disneyland Resort!
