I'm doing my first 5K at Disney in Nov. Four weeks into Jeff Galloway's program I'm at a 17 min/mile pace. I'm concerned about being swept. How long do I really have to complete the course.

    Hi Kuleen!

It sounds like you are doing just fine!  You still have a long time to train, and you will get stronger with every run.

The 16 minute/mile pacers will begin after the last person crosses the starting line. The last wave of runners will be the stroller walkers.  This means that technically, you will have at least 7-10 minutes of a head start on the pacers.  The closer to the front of your wave you can begin, the more time you will have.

I think you will be just fine!  Relax, and have fun.  You are doing the right thing by following a professional's training plan.

Good luck with your runs, and please let me know if you have any other questions!
