I’m going to Disneyland in October. Will the parks be reopen by then and if so do they do anything special for Halloween? When do tickets go on sale for Halloween special events?

Boo! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rebecca! I’m so excited for your spook-tacular Halloween Time plans at the Disneyland Resort. October is one of my favorite months to visit the theme parks, thanks to the festive décor, happy haunts, and specially-themed attraction overlays!

Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact re-opening date of the Disneyland Resort just yet. To check the current status of the theme parks, I recommend keeping an eye on this page. Any updates will be posted there. You can also stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog, which is a great spot to find breaking Disney Parks news.

One of my favorite parts of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party! I had the chance to visit this frightfully fun event twice last year, and I loved every minute of it! The Immersive Treat Trails, Villains Grove, and “Mickey’s Trick & Treat” were just a few of my favorite experiences. Last year, tickets for this Special Event went on sale to the general public on April 30, 2019. The event itself was announced on a Disney Parks Blog post on April 17. Tickets went on sale to Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and Disney Visa card holders on April 23. The Oogie Boogie Bash event took place at Disney California Adventure Park on select nights from September 6 through October 31, 2019. Obviously, this year is looking quite a bit different so far, and ticket sales haven't been announced yet. Once again, I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog – this will most likely be the first place the event will be announced when and if the time is right in the future.

In addition to Oogie Boogie Bash, I also enjoy heading over to Disneyland Park to check out the classic Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, which was inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. I also love checking out the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, and the Halloween Screams spell-ebration.

In the meantime, if you’re looking for some fun ways to pass the time and bring Disney magic into your home, I suggest checking out Disney Magic Moments. From favorite Disney recipes to virtual shows, parades, and attractions, there’s a little something for everyone!

Please stop by with any additional questions for your visit to the Spookiest Place on Earth, Rebecca… I’m all EARs!

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
