Hello moms. I'm going to Disney World June 2016. It'll be mine and my little girl's first time at Disney. What are great restaurants for children age 5? I'm planning to take her to CRT and BOG, any other ideas?

Disney provides so many dining experiences for children, it's hard to know where to begin but here are some of my favorites when my children were that age:

    • Chef Mickey's: From its Mickey Waffles to a pastry buffet that would assure any dentist of job security, the food caters to your kids. Top it off with some of the best character interaction with Mickey, Donald and the rest of the gang and you've got a solid memory maker. My son is now 10 and still requests to go back.
    • Rainforest Cafe: If your daughter is an animal lover, she'll love seeing them come to life in this restaurant that creates tropical showers and wild animal displays complete with sound. As a parent, the menu offers a lot more variety than other table service restaurants and is less expensive than restaurants in the parks. If the location at Animal Kingdom is booked, visit the one at Downtown Disney.
    • Akershus: The parade of princesses this restaurant provides helps you avoid the long lines for the meet-and-greets in the parks and allows you to save valuable FastPass+ choices for other attractions. I recommend going at breakfast so that you can enjoy the stroll through the World Showcase with practically no one around.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
