I'm going to Disney in August, just myself and 7 yo daughter. I want to stay at a moderate resort for the first time (usually stay at a value resort). I can't decide between Riverside and FQ. Any advice on which is better for just the two of us?

I would suggest Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ) for your mother-daughter vacation. It's smaller than Port Orleans Riverside (POR) and would not require as much walking between your room and the resort's amenities (pool, arcade, food court, laundry, etc).

There is only one bus stop. Buses stop here first before going over to Riverside. You should have a much better chance for obtaining an open seat, rather than a bus with standing room only.

You can still take advantage of some of the amenities at Port Orleans Riverside (marina with boat rental, bicycle rentals, table service restaurant) via a pleasant stroll or boat ride.

I've included links so you can take a look at both resorts. Best wishes!
