Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Holiday

I'm considering taking my family to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but I have children with disabilities. Is the DAS pass available? And how can I make the party easier for kids who can't handle long lines?

    Hi Casandra,

Ohmygoodness...if you have the opportunity to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I'd DEFINITELY do it! It's my very favorite special event of the entire year! With special holiday-themed fun, complimentary snacks and treats, unique character greeting opportunities, snow on Main Street U.S.A., the all new Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show, and my very favorite part of the evening, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, you're going to leave with a heart FULL of Christmas joy and memories you'll cherish forever!

Since the Disability Access Service utilizes the FastPass+ queues for return times and those are closed during special events, the Disability Access Service is not available during any special events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. In my personal experience, we've always found the lines to be short enough that it wasn't an issue, especially if it's a mid-week party. If there's an attraction you'd like to experience and the current wait times will prohibit you from doing so, I'd definitely encourage you to chat with a Cast Member at the attraction entrance. They'll be able to see that your family has visited Guest Relations to set up the Disability Access Service and hopefully they can make some magic happen for you and allow you to experience the attraction without needing to wait in a long queue.

I'd also encourage you to pack some things to help your Mouseketeers feel comfortable. For my kiddo who is on the autism spectrum, I usually bring headphones, some sensory toys, and some favorite snacks in case he starts having difficulties. I can tell you, though, that thanks to how accommodating Disney is to Guests with disabilities, we've always found "The Most Magical Place on Earth" to be magical for everyone, and my son absolutely LOVES our Disney vacations.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Casandra, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical visit this holiday season!
