I'm considering a dining package for Candlelight Processional. However, my son is only 3 and I'm not sure he will make it through dinner and then the whole event. Is it possible to just get a ticket to the processional without a dining package?

    Hi there, Melissa!

There is nothing like Walt Disney World during the Christmas season, and by far, my favorite thing to do is the Candlelight Processional. Taking place at Epcot, there are three shows nightly during the holiday season, and that may work in your favor.

If you want to do one of the Candlelight Processional Dining Packages, your meal actually takes place prior to the show. You might be able to find a breakfast or lunch option available, that would give you the earlier shows of the Candlelight Processional. That might make it so that your son is able to make it through the whole event.

On the other hand, you don't need a ticket at all to see the Candlelight Processional. The show is included with your theme park admission. The advantage to the dining package is that it guarantees you a spot in the theater. The standby line is not always guaranteed a spot to sit in the theater, and guests there for the most popular narrators or the busier nights - like Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, etc. - tend to line up super early. I have seen people lining up at noon to see Neil Patrick Harris, and even ran into two diehard ladies who were waiting at the front of the standby line at 11 AM for a Christmas Eve show.

I've taken my kids since they were little, and always do the dining package. I'm not gonna lie, sometimes, they fall asleep before the show gets started, and I've even had one kid who could barely sit still through the show at age 3. But each little one is different!

    Have a wonderful time!
