I'm confused about the park hours. In October, say Monday, the park hours closes at 8pm. There are parades and fireworks that start after 8:00pm. Please help me understand this?

    Hi, Leanne!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for visiting us with your question about theme park hours. I love Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. The fall décor, the seasonal treats, and experiencing the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction all make for a festive and fun vacation!

Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland Park is held several nights in October and is a separate event not included with regular park admission tickets, so the park closes earlier than usual for Guests not attending the party. I’m not sure exactly which date’s schedule you were viewing, but if it was a night when a party is scheduled, it’s possible that the advertised park hours could end before some of the listed party entertainment begins.

If you don’t plan to attend the party, you’re free to spend the earlier part of the day experiencing the Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction, riding the thrilling Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy (both these attractions are specially-themed for the holiday) and splurging on Halloween-inspired treats available all around the parks. Be sure to make time to encounter some Disney villains and enjoy the not-so-spooky activities and crafts for kids at the Halloween Carnival at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland. My family especially enjoys watching the talented pumpkin carvers there and meeting some of our favorite Disney characters in their Halloween costumes!

I hope this helps, Leanne. Please write back to me with any other questions you may have.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
