I'm so confused by some of the character dining locations. I see a lot of them are at the Grand spa resort. We are going to Disneyworld only.... is Chef Mickey there?? Or would we have to drive to Chef Mickey outside of Disneyworld?

    Hi Ashley,

First time visitors are always astounded by the sheer size of Walt Disney World. Would you believe it actually covers over 47 square miles?! Once on property, there are 4 main theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios) as well as 2 water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach). In addition, there is the Downtown Disney Marketplace (shopping) and 24 different resorts.

From the moment your plane arrives at Orlando International Airport, Disney takes care of transportation for guests. The complimentary Magical Express shuttle service will bring you to your Disney resort. Once on property, there are free buses, ferries and monorails to bring you anywhere you need to go. This includes visiting the various resorts in order to enjoy character (and other) dining.

Chef Mickey's is in the Contemporary Resort. This is located near the Magic Kingdom. You can book breakfast there then ride the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom, or book dinner and go there from the Magic Kingdom or Epcot (or any park). When deciding where to dine, first make a list of where you'd like to go and which characters you'd like to dine with. You can begin booking Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Go ahead and book all of the ones that you would like, and I'm more than happy to help you figure out the best / easiest / fastest mode of transporation to get you there. :)

I promise to help make it a smooth and easy vacation for you transporation wise. Send me a follow up question when you are ready. Have fun planning!
