Giraffes at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Hi Mom’s, I’m coming to WDW in the beginning of April and staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I’ve heard that the Lodge is under refurbishment for rooms. I can’t find anything that this is happening or not. Every thing I read is last year Thank you.

Jambo Raymond, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

How exciting that you’ll be at Walt Disney World again in just a few short days. This is one of my favorite times of the year to visit, with the gorgeous spring weather, stunning topiaries at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, and Easter festivities popping up all around the resort.

My dear friend and fellow Panelist, Tabitha, just had an amazing stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, so I checked in with her for the latest news. There are some refurbishments being done around the resort, mostly within the Guest rooms. One of the changes is that they are installing amenity holders in  the showers; Tabitha’s room had already been refurbished, and she had the pump-style bottles of H2O+ shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower, though your room may still feature the travel-size toiletry bottles. When you check in, you’ll receive a letter (it’s usually in the room) from the resort manager outlining the extent of the refurbishments.

Raymond, I’ve stayed at many resorts during construction, and other than sometimes being a bit of an eyesore, it’s never negatively impacted my visit. They do a great job of shutting down construction noise during evening and early morning hours, and you’re always welcome to talk to a Cast Member if you do experience any disruption.

Have a wild time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Please head to The Mara and have a Zebra Dome for me – they’re one of the best treats at Disney!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
