I'm coming to Disney with a conference for work with a discounted room rate making my family who is joining me not eligible for the dining plan. What do you suggest for the best value & convience for my families 7 day stay?

    Hi Marnie,

How wonderful that in just a few months you will be experiencing what it is to be a ConventionEAR at Walt Disney World Resort. I know you and your family will have an amazing time.

I had the opportunity in years past to attend several Disney Meetings and conventions. And although we love the Disney Dining Plans but could not take advantage of them, we still planned ahead as if we had one. A way to prepay for these is by purchasing Disney Gift Cards ahead of time. Be sure to make any advance dining reservations soon.

Although my conferences had me attending sessions and meetings from early morning until late at night, I always made sure to dedicate at least half a day to enjoy some Theme Park time and a Table-Service dinner with my family. We love the food prepared right in front of us at Teppan Edo, but also like to have a great buffet dinner with Mickey and his pals at Chef Mickey's.

One last tip: most times, you can take advantage of discounted Theme Park Tickets. Be sure to purchase these ahead of time, since one of the many Disney Resort Hotel Guest Benefits is the ability to book FastPass+ reservations up to 60 days before arrival. See you real soon!

    Ricardo.
