I'm bringing my two children (ages 5 and 1 1/2) to Florida to visit family next week. I'm wondering if the Mickey and/or Minnie characters make appearances anywhere OTHER than inside the parks. We do not plan on going to the parks. Thanks!

Hey, Jessica! Sounds like the ideal situation for visiting in-laws, eh?

To answer your question, I say (in a high pitched voice like Mickey,) "You Betcha!"

The easiest way to see Mickey and/or Minnie outside of the parks is by embarking on a character dining experience at one of the resorts. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary has both Mickey and Minnie. Cape May Cafe (breakfast) has Minnie. Ohana (breakfast) usually has Mickey.

If all the reservations are snatched up, you can catch Mickey and the gang from afar doing the Magic Kingdom Welcome in front of the park first thing in the morning without having to go through the turnstiles.
