I'm in the beginning planning stages of a trip to DisneyWorld November 1-9, 2014. I just found out the Half Marathon/Wine Event is scheduled Nov 8-9 and I'm was wondering how the event will effect the crowds that weekend.

    Hi there, Michele!

Congratulations on planning your next vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort! I really love the dates that you've chosen because you'll be there when Magic Kingdom Park is all decorated for Halloween at the beginning of your trip and toward the end, the Park will be all dressed up in its holiday best! :)

With the increasing popularity of runDisney events, I can totally understand your concern over the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend taking place during your vacation and possibly effecting crowds. I love to visit during this time of the year and have actually been the last 3 years during this same weekend. Often times, Guests come in a few days prior to the marathon or stay a few days afterwards. Keeping that in mind, I have to tell you, the Parks aren't nearly as crowded as they have been in the summer, in my opinion, although it does tend to be pretty busy.

Check out TouringPlans.com for some great information and an awesome crowd calendar! If you strategically plan ahead and make your Advanced Dining Reservations early, I think you'll be just fine! You can make those reservations up to 180 days in advance which makes it really nice for planning purposes.

I sure hope this helps, Michele! Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can help with any other questions you have!

Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
