Hi I'm back. We have the DDP I have most of our big places we want booked. My question is will they be certain items on the menu we order that our plan cover or how does it work. I'm still confused with the dinning. And will we have to pay anything OOP

    Welcome back, Leeann!

Thanks so much for stopping back by and sending in this great question! I'm glad to hear that you've already booked the Advanced Dining Reservations that are most important to you and your family! Yippee! :)

As of right now, the 2014 details of the Disney Dining Plan are still being negotiated with some of the restaurants. There were a few locations last year that had specific menu items for the Dining Plan, but, for the most part, you could order off of the regular menu at a majority of the dining locations. Each location has their own page on the main Walt Disney World website where you can see examples of their menus. I've also been able to find more detailed menu information on AllEars.net, so you may want to check there as well.

The most important thing to note about the Disney Dining Plan is that gratuity is not included. Your server will take the entitlements away to cover the cost of the meals and you will receive a bill for the gratuity only. I always try to look at the menus online to guess approximate dollar amounts for our meals. I like to add money throughout the year to a Disney Gift Card so that we're able to use that to pay for the gratuities! I suppose you could call it our savings plan!

I sure hope this helps, Leeann! Please feel free to write back in if we can help with any other questions you have!

Wishing you a Pixie Dusted vacation!

    Bon Appétit!
