I'm arranging an itinerary for 8days for family of 7. We have the deluxe meal plan and will be making reservations. Can you advise the best times to schedule meals so that we can make the most of park hours and grab fast passes before dining?

    Hi Colleen,

When I was working out our plans for a Deluxe Dining Plan, I opted to have a table service meal for lunch (1 credit) and then dinner at a signature restaurant (2 credits).  There really is a lot of food with this plan, so I didn't think we'd need three meals a day.  We used our snack plans to have some fruit and similar items in the room for breakfast for those who wanted something.

When I made our reservations, I tried to get an early lunch (between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm) since we either skipped breakfast or had something on the go.  This also allowed us to have about three hours in the parks beforehand (mornings are a great time to get a lot done in the parks), and we would always try to grab a set of fast passes before eating.  After lunch we continued at the parks or went back to the room for a break/swim.  I scheduled dinner around 7:00, which would still leave us with some time at the parks (except Animal Kingdom).

If you are really curious about itinerary planning. is an amazing site that offers over 100 touring plans to help you make the most of your park visits.  It does have a small cost, but it is incredibly helpful.
