Hi! Im from Argentina. I would like to know if the 7th of September is Labor Day? I asked because I just purchased tickets for Mikey's not so scary Halloween Party on that day and I think I made a huge mistake. Can I change the date?

¡Saludos Clara Maria Teresa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'd be happy to help with your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

I'm so glad to hEAR you'll be visiting us from Argentina. I had the opportunity to spend some time in your beautiful country a few years ago, and it was an enchanting experience. Did you know there are some Disney Parks Moms Panelists who also answer questions in Spanish? If you have any local friends or family that would like their vacation planning questions answered in Spanish, send them our way!

To answer your question simply: yes; Monday, the 7th of September is Labor Day in the United States. While this is a federal holiday in our country and schools as well as government offices will be closed, I don't think you will find it to be a particularly busy day in the Disney Parks. In fact, the month of September tends to be less crowded than other times of the year in Walt Disney World. Children in the United States start returning to school after summer break in early to mid-August, and the beginning of the school year is generally not a popular time to take vacations. I have traveled to Walt Disney World in September many times, and on each visit, I have enjoyed a relaxing theme park experience. Just remember to pack your bathing suit, summer clothing, and rain jacket. It feels like summer in Florida all the way through October!

I'm so glad you have purchased tickets to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! This spook-tacular celebration is one of my favorite seasonal events in Walt Disney World. According to official ticketing rules and regulations, these tickets are "nontransferable and nonrefundable and may not be resold." If you are concerned with Labor Day holiday crowds, keep in mind that the 7th of September is almost two months before Halloween, and the parties tend to be more crowded as the holiday approaches. Disney also limits the number of tickets sold for each party, so while you won't find yourself alone in the park, it won't be quite as crowded as an average day in the Magic Kingdom Park. I attended this party in September a few years back, and my family and I did not find the crowds at all overwhelming. In fact, we were able to enjoy the evening entertainment and experience our favorite attractions without waiting in long lines. Mom tip: Be sure to secure a viewing spot at least twenty minutes in advance for the Boo-to-You Halloween parade; it's a not-to-be-missed family-friendly fright fest!

I hope I have helped settle any concerns you may have about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the Labor Day holiday. I think you will find this is a delightful time of year to be in the Disney Parks. Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more information about new attractions joining the lineup this summer. I know I'll be watching for the opening date of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and the debut of Harmonious in EPCOT.

    ¡Buen viaje!
