Hello! I´ll be in Orlando from 12/20 to 1/16 with kids 11 n 7 visiting my parents. Planning on visiting the parks a few days. Which days are the best to go and enjoy the Christmas decorations and parades without the crowds? We´re not going to MVM

    Hi Angie,

The Disney theme parks and resorts are simply gorgeous during the holidays!  I'm so pleased to hear that you are planning to visit at that time.

I suggest that you pick a day between Christmas and New Year's Day to drive over to visit the Disney resorts.  Consider making a dining reservation at one of the resorts on the monorail line by calling (407) WDW-DINE.  1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana, and the Kona Cafe are all good choices.  Then, after your meal, board the monorail and visit the three Disney resorts along the monorail line to see the spectacular holiday decorations there.  You won't believe the amazing life-size gingerbread house in the lobby of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort!  After you visit the resorts along the monorail, head back to your car and drive over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  Prepare yourself to be awestruck by the decorations in the lobby there.

Then, between January 2nd and 5th, I'd plan to go back to Walt Disney World and visit the theme parks.  That way you'll still be able to enjoy the holiday decorations without having to deal with the large crowds that will likely populate the parks between Christmas and New Year's Day.  I don't recommend visiting much after the 5th, though, because the holiday decorations could easily disappear as that first week of January comes to an end.

Wishing you many magical memories during your upcoming trip!
