Hi, I'll be in Disney in Oct 2014 with my 2 year old. How many nights/days is a good amount to get all the parks in with sufficient down time for naps/pool time?

    Dawn:

Because the weather is so pleasant in October, you should be able to enjoy one park each day for a minimum of a 4-night, 5-day trip and return home relatively happy that you got to see most of Disney World's theme park highlights. However, personally, a minimum stay for our family is five nights/six days so that we can spend a full day at our resort, too.

If you have the budget, a 6-night, 7-day trip allows you to explore Magic Kingdom for two days and the other theme parks for one day each and gives you a day in the middle to relax at your resort's pool and explore it. I would definitely recommend this full resort day if you are staying in one of Disney's deluxe resorts in the Magic Kingdom or Epcot areas. Keep in mind that the longer your stay, the less expensive your park tickets become. Additionally, the new FastPass+ system will allow you greater flexibility to plan your day at the parks so you no longer have to arrive early just to get a FP so naps should be easier to schedule.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
