II recently booked a Disney trip (thru AAA) for our family in October 2012. It was a package deal with the dining plan included. If Disney decides to give free dining during this time, will I automatically be notified and be eligible for this.?

    Hi Carolyn,

If you used a travel agent with AAA, it is possible that your agent may notify you of new discounts that are released. However, I would take the initiative to watch for Special Offers that may apply to your existing reservation.

When you see a discount that includes your vacation dates, you will need to call the travel agency to have them modify your reservation. If free dining is released, your agent can modify your reservation to include the Disney Dining Plan for free.

Note, however that this is not always the largest cost savings as you will pay rack rate for your hotel room when utilizing a free dining offer. Be sure to compare costs before you automatically switch to a free dining package!

October is a great time of year to visit WDW!
