Ideas for NYE at WDW. It's our last day there, and we are staying off-property with grandparents and a 5 year old boy. Suggestions? Maybe Chef Mickeys or a diner show? Flight is too early in the morning to make it to midnight- thanks!

    Hi Cassandra!

While I have never been to the Walt Disney World Resort for New Years Eve it is definitely on my bucket list of times to visit! I have heard that the fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot are spectacular. However it is typically an extremely busy time to visit. The Theme Parks tend to be very busy and friends that have visited during this time say that if you plan on going into the parks it is best to have a plan and FastPass+ return times.

If I was taking my son I would follow through with your plan of a nice dinner at one of the Resort hotels or a dinner show. I asked my five year old son where he would want to dine he yelled “Chef Mickey’s!!!” This is his favorite place to eat since there is plenty of fun kid friendly food options and he can meet his favorite characters. If you are considering a dinner show I personally love the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. I will say though that we haven’t attempted to take our kids to this dinner show so I am not sure if they would love it as much as we do. Another place that my kids really enjoy is T-Rex at Disney Springs. The food has always been delicious and we love the atmosphere. The kids really love to explore Disney Springs and spend a lot of time in the Lego Store! I think exploring Disney Springs is a great way to end your trip. Whatever dining experience you plan on make sure that you make a dining reservation. Dining reservations will fill up quickly for this evening!

I hope that you have an Unforgettable time! Please come back and visit us real soon with any other additional vacation planning questions that you have!
