I'd like to hit AK and HS in one day. It will be this July and I'm wondering if this sounds possible?

    Welcome back, Bonnie!

Yes! This plan is absolutely possible! My family and I had a day exactly like this, and in July too. Here are my tips to make this park-hopping adventure as successful as possible.

    • Plan to arrive at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park prior to park opening. This way, you can hit the ground running as soon as the park opens - nothing beats the first hour or two in the parks after opening. If Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is on your list of must-do attractions, hit that first and then follow it with Kilimanjaro Safaris.

    • After a wild safari, check your Times Guide or My Disney Experience smartphone app for the next showing of the Festival of the Lion King. Any additional things you're interested in seeing and doing, do after you have completed key shows and attractions.

    • There is direct bus transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios from Disney's Animal Kingdom. Plan on at least 45 minutes to an hour to transfer parks.

    • Utilize your three FastPass+ selections for late-afternoon or early evening at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Ride stand-by while enjoying Disney's Animal Kingdom.

While it will be tough to see and do everything at both parks in one day, by making a list of your top priorities for each park, arriving early and using your FastPass+ options for late in the day, you should have a great day in these two parks. Oh, and be sure to pack ponchos! July is notorious for afternoon thunderstorms.

I hope this gives you a good place to start as you plan your day, Bonnie! Should you have any additional questions, we are here to help.
