It will be my husbands 50th BD,when we are at DW, i must say sadly he is not a Disney nut like the rest of his family:(I would like to do something special on his day though, any suggestions?

There are lots of options for celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World beyond character meals and Mickey-shaped balloons.

If your husband enjoys a particular sport or activity, plan around that theme. For instance, a round of golf or a golf lesson followed by dinner at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge would be a wonderful surprise.

Perhaps he's always dreamed about the speed of a race car. The Richard Petty Driving Experience is a popular gift for thrill-seekers.

There are many recreational activities outside of the theme parks including parasailing, horseback riding, fishing and more. Splurge on one of them and then plan a dinner for that evening.

The tours offered by Walt Disney World are fantastic. I recommend the Wild Africa Trek for an exhilarating activity. Later, have dinner at one of the Animal Kingdom Lodge restaurants.

Head to the Saratoga Springs Spa for a couples massage or send your husband for the Adirondack Stone massage. This is a relaxing escape from the parks.

Showing your husband that there is more to Walt Disney World than Mickey waffles and long waits for Peter Pan, may turn him into a Disney fan too. If not, you could always make him embrace his inner child with a breakfast at the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh. Seriously, just use your imagination and you are sure to plan the best birthday in WDW for a non-Disney fan.

Happy Birthday wishes for a wonderful vacation!
