My husband & I are going with our 2.5 yr old on the Dream. He goes to be around 7:30 every night but our larger family has booked us for the 8:15 rotational dining. Did anyone else have this issue with younger children? Nursery or Cabanas every night?

    Ahoy, Catherine!

Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so happy to hear your family will be sailing on the beautiful Disney Dream!

With a little one with an early bedtime, having an 8:15 dining time can be tricky. You certainly don't want to miss out on the awesome Main Dining venues by eating at Cabanas every evening! (Although the food there is delicious!)

Early (or "Main") dinner seating is a popular choice for families with young children, so it's usually the first to get booked. Guests with early seating will eat first, then move to the Walt Disney Theatre for the evening's show, while guests with late seating will see the shows before dinner. If you'd like to try and make changes to your dining assignment, you can always check your Personal Navigator (your daily schedule) on your first afternoon on the ship for a Dining Assignment Change meeting spot. Your schedule will list a time and location where you can speak with the Dining Team and make requests. I can't guarantee that they'll be able to accommodate your request, but it never hurts to ask!

Also, I encourage you to take advantage of It's A Small World Nursery. Our daughter was two on our first cruise, and we would take her to the nursery after dinner so we could explore the ship with the other adults in our sailing party. She would usually fall asleep while in their care, and we were able to pick her up and transfer her (sleeping) back to our stateroom. She's a heavy sleeper, so that was an option for us, though it may not be for your little one. One night when we came to pick her up, Mulan, in full costume, was rocking our sleeping princess. That's a magical memory I'll never forget! She ended up being her favorite princess for quite some time.

I hope this helps, and I hope you're able to find the perfect solution for your family. Please come back if you have more questions for us!

    Have a magical day! - Diane W.
