My husband is in a wheelchair. Can I ask Pop Century to give us a room on the first floor close to everything to avoid pushing a wheelchair around too much? We don't need an accessible room since he can walk very short distances.

    Welcome Marilyn ~

Your trip will be here before you know it and I bet you are too excited to sleep already! You are going to love Disney's Pop Century Resort! It brings back so many awesome childhood memories. I enjoy visiting this resort and love showing my boys things I played with as a kid although I never could (and still can't) solve a Rubik's Cube.

If you didn't request a first floor room when you made your reservation, I would suggest doing that as soon as possible. You can reach Disney's Pop Century Resort by calling 407-938-4000 and ask them to note that on your reservation. About a week before your trip, I would call again. Keep in mind that this is a request and while they will do their best to accommodate you, it can't be guaranteed. If they are not able to accommodate a first floor request, you could ask that they put you near an elevator but those rooms may be a little less quiet due to Guests coming and going all of the time.

Before you head out to the theme parks, be sure to check out the services offered for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. Some attractions allow Guests with Mobility Disabilities to remain in their wheelchairs or Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs), some require Guests in ECVs to transfer to wheelchairs to board, and other attractions require Guests to be mobile to board. For those attractions that require Guests to be mobile, keep in mind that if your husband is able to transfer but needs physical assistance, someone in your party will need to assist him. Cast Members will be happy to move his wheelchair once he has boarded the attraction and will have it waiting for him afterwards.

Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
