My husband and I will be visiting WDW for our 12th anniversary. I would like something special to do on our anniversary evening other than dining. What do you suggest and should we use a child care center on property?

My husband and I have celebrated a number of anniversaries at Disney World.  And while dining in one of the signature locations is always a tasty experience, there are plenty of ways to celebrate outside of the restaurants.

One year, my husband and I toured the World Showcase after dark and had a blast.  We stopped in each of the countries and took silly pictures of each other doing something that represented the country (wearing sombreros in Mexico, posing with the troll in Norway, etc.).  We strolled along the promenade, holding hands and enjoying the festive atmosphere.  To close out our evening we picked up some pastries at the French bakery and grabbed a prime viewing spot for Illuminations.  It's one of my favorite anniversary memories to this day.

Of course, you could also pay a visit to Downtown Disney and take in the Cirque du Soleil show.  It's a popular activity to spark some romance for couples.

As far as the child care, I'm a big proponent of celebrating an anniversary sans the kiddos; every couple deserves that time to reflect on and celebrate their marriage.  Rest assured that if you do choose to go it alone, the kid clubs at WDW will show your little ones a fun time.  I've also used the Fairy Godmother service (Google Orlando Fairy Godmothers for the phone number) and was pleased with our experience.

    Happy Anniversary!
