My husband and I are visiting Disney soon to celebrate his birthday and I am wondering what are the must do's and must eats for first time visitors? Also, what are some extra special things we can do for his birthday?

    Hi Shannon,

There's no greater place to celebrate a birthday than at the Walt Disney World Resort! You and your husband are going to have a BLAST!

With classic attractions, thrill rides, character greeting opportunities, entertaining shows and parades, and spectacular nighttime celebrations, there's magic everywhere you look! Since it's your first visit, I'd encourage you to make some FastPass+ selections for some of things you're most looking forward to trying. A visit to Magic Kingdom Park is a must-do, and I'd recommend arriving early and staying all the way through Happily Ever After! As far as dining goes, you may begin making reservations 180 days in advance and I'd definitely recommend getting reservations as early as possible! Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria, Be Our Guest Restaurant, and Cinderella's Royal Table are all well-loved favorites by many Guests and are great for a first visit. Plus, some not-to-be-missed snacks are Dole Whips, Mickey Ice Cream Bars, and Mickey pretzels. Mmm...I'm getting hungry just thinking about the delicious food!

To make your husband's birthday extra special, be sure to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button when you arrive, and Cast Members (and even some Guests!) will love celebrating with you. You may also order a custom cake or visit Disney Floral and Gifts for other ways to make his birthday one he'll never forget.

There are so many aspects to planning a first visit, Shannon, so definitely feel free to write me back and ask more questions! I hope that you and your husband have a truly magical vacation!
