My husband and I will be visiting the Disney Resort Area in May 2008 for our first anniversary. He will also be home on R&R from Iraq. Is there anything we can do or have done for this occasion? We spent our honeymoon here so its a special place for

    Lisa,

First and foremost I want to say thank you.  Thanks to your husband and to you, for the sacrifices you are making for our country.  I am incredibly grateful.

Congratulations on your first anniversary!  If you haven't already, have it noted on your resort reservation and on your meal reservations that this is your anniversary.  I would also tell the Cast Member about your husband's service, both at booking and at check-in.  There is no guarantee that anything special will be done for either occasion, but it does happen sometimes.  I know a family who was separated when the war started and they planned a trip to Disney when they were able to reunite.  The Cast Members were so moved by the story that they received a very generous room upgrade.  I am not normally a fan of mentioning things in hopes of receiving a special perk, but I feel much differently when it comes to our troops.

Ask at check-in, or at Guest Services at one of the theme parks, for Anniversary pins.  You can both wear those during your stay and they make for a lot of fun (and a great free souvenir!)

Finally, if you want to plan a special surprise for your sweetie consider the Disney Florist.  www.disneyflorist.com

    Have a wonderful vacation!
