    Myra from OH Asked

My husband is a veteran with a service connected disability. He has his ID card from the Veterans Administration. Would this be an acceptable form of ID for military discounts?

Hi, Myra, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

In order to qualify for the 4-Day or 5-Day Military Promotional Tickets for Walt Disney World Resort, your husband would need to have a DD Form 2 (Retired or Reserve Retired), DD Form 1173 or 1173-1, or a DD Form 2765. Any of these forms of Military ID may be presented at a Walt Disney World Resort ticket window (or the newly-opened ticket office at Disney Springs), or you may use these forms of ID to purchase tickets at your local military base's MWR/ITT ticket office or through the Shades of Green ticket office.

Shades of Green is a special hotel at Walt Disney World Resort reserved for the exclusive use of active and retired members of the U.S. military and their families. If your husband doesn't have one of the forms of military ID listed above (but does have proof of Honorable Discharge and a DD Form 214), you may be eligible to stay at Shades of Green in January or September as a part of its annual "Salute to Our Veterans" program.

Eligible active and retired service members (with valid military ID) may also qualify for discounted rates at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels (subject to availability on select nights) and may purchase a specially-priced Memory Maker, too.

Hopefully this answers your question, Myra. Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can help with anything else.
