    Laura from SHROPSHIRE Asked

Hi, My husband is Type 1 Diabetic. Would he be eligible for the Disability Access Card. I saw a post saying this was covered but it was in specific relation to a child so wasn't sure if adults were eligible? Thanks

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question, Laura!

I truly admire how the Walt Disney World Resort is committed to offering all Guests the best possible experience by providing a welcoming and inclusive environment. Traveling with loved ones with a disability can be quite challenging, especially those with medical issues that require constant monitoring such as type 1 diabetes. Since this condition may potentially cause your husband to experience symptoms impacting his ability to carry out day-to-day activities, I highly recommend visiting Guest Relations located at the main entrance of all four theme parks to discuss his assistance needs and verify eligibility for Disability Access Service (DAS).

This amazing service was created to accommodate visitors who cannot wait in a regular queue environment due to an apparent or non-apparent disability. This may be helpful to your husband since many factors may affect blood sugar levels, including activity and heat. A DAS card offers a return time for participating attractions based on the current wait time. Soon after the Guest experiences an attraction, they are eligible to receive a return time for another, and one of the best features of this service is that it can be used in addition to FastPass+. If you have any further questions about DAS before your visit, please send us another question and feel free to contact Disability.services@disneyparks.com or call +1 (407) 560-2547.

It was a pleasure answering your very first question, Laura. I really do hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical and safe visit.

    Best Disney wishes,
    Thiana
