My husband and I are taking out 14 and 11 year old sons to WDW for their first time. How many days to you recommend for us to enjoy all 4 parks?

    Hi Allison,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World resort can be exciting and terrifying all at once. Luckily, I have a few suggestions!

Since your boys are older, you can probably do well with staying five nights. If you choose this option, I suggest that you get at least a five-day park ticket. Although the Park Hopper Option is lovely, we do not always add it. It just depends on our budget for each trip. If you do not add the Park Hopper option, you will have to plan your meals carefully to be sure that you are either dining in the park you visited for the day or dining at a restaurant that is not in a park at all.

Next, I suggest that you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel with theme park tickets gives you the ability to book Fast Pass+ 60 days in advance of your trip. With Fast Pass+ you can reserve times for three rides per day. If you have the Park Hopper Option, you can book an additional Fast Pass at a different park once you have used your first three Fast Passes for the day.

Also, make Dining Reservations. There are a number of fabulous dining venues. My family loves to eat so we consider dining part of our vacation experience.

Finally, we always purchase a Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan and Deluxe Dining Plan work well for us. If your boys are healthy eaters, you may want to try the Deluxe Dining Plan. We love this plan because it provides three meals and two snacks per night of stay.

I do hope you have a magical time!
