    Genevieve from TX Asked

My husband and I are taking our son for the first time to Disneyland. He is 2 will be 3 on the 2nd of July, do I have to bring a birth certificate to prove he is 2 because he is 38inchs tall and I get asked how old he is. Being tall runs in the family.

Hello, Genevieve! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!

I can remember with absolute clarity my daughter’s first ride on Splash Mountain which has a 40” height requirement. She squealed with glee the entire time and was only 3 years old. So I know exactly what it’s like to travel to the parks with a tall little one! You will not need to bring anything along to prove your 2-year-old’s age. A Cast Member may ask when you enter the parks, but that is all. If you are particularly concerned, you can bring along a copy of your son’s birth certificate but I can almost guarantee you won’t need it.

Since your son is already 38” tall, he might have a blast riding some attractions with shorter height restrictions. Gadget’s Go Coaster in Mickey’s Toontown has a 35” height requirement and is the perfect little roller coaster to introduce kids to thrill attractions. If your son is into cars, you simply must take a ride on Autopia! Kids who are at least 32” tall can actually drive the car as long as an adult who is at least 54” tall is seated next to them. The car is on a track so there is no risk of them driving off course and it’s an absolute hoot to watch your little one steer a car for the first time!

I hope your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is full of magic and memories!
